Looking for suggestions: Weekend getaway in or near Ventura County We live in Ventura and would like a nearby (2 hour ish drive) weekend getaway. We like small towns with a relaxed vibe and some quaint things to do. Beaches, parks, hiking, small town shopping (consignment store, farmer markets, etc.), small museums of whatever random thing the town is known for, large sea mammals basking in the sun.
We've been to and loved SLO, Santa Paula, Ojai. Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Oxnard, Camarillo, feels too close to count like a proper getaway, so ideally a place further away than that. Places like LA are a bit too hectic for our taste. Ideally, something in the spirit of SLO and Santa Paula would hit the spot.
I'm looking at the weekend of the 9th of August or the one after. Local festival a plus. We're a sucker for festivals.

Secluded Nature-y Places Hello! I will be coming into Burbank/LA/Santa Barbara for a long weekend. I live in Vegas but I'm missing my greenery. I was looking for somewhere I could take a day trip (or even stay overnight) that was full of nature and green. Perhaps something forest-y or mountain-y? Somewhere where I could take a nice easy hike.
I was looking at the Angeles National Forest but it seemed pretty overwhelming and I don't think they have cabins there :(
Thanks for any help you can provide :)

Hi neighbors!
Besides staying in a hotel or glamping, has anyone taken their kids to a unique place to spend a couple nights? Don't want to drive very far, maybe a couple hours. Looking for some interesting ideas? I heard you can sleep at the SB Zoo, anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks so much!
